A home at MIT for everyone curious about German language, culture, and community — from native speakers to first-time learners.
About Us
No prior knowledge of German is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to join in.
The MIT German Club is a student organization open to all members of the MIT community who share an interest in Germany and German-speaking culture. We bring together students, postdocs, and friends of MIT who want to practice the language, celebrate traditions, and meet like-minded people.
Whether you grew up speaking German, studied it for years, or are simply drawn to the culture, food, and history, you will find a welcoming community here. Our events range from relaxed conversation tables and film screenings to seasonal celebrations such as Oktoberfest and a winter Weihnachtsmarkt.
Our mission is simple: to create connections between people at MIT who love German culture — and to make those connections fun, friendly, and lasting.
All students, postdocs, and affiliates are welcome — every language level included.
Language tables, film nights, food, holidays, and trips throughout the year.
Meet native speakers, exchange students, and others who share your interest.
